wow am I lucky, I just took a trip and put my Xbox 360 and two camera in my check baggage. Whew!

I used to work for the post office, and the reason it got chewed up is because the candy bulges in the envelopes get them stuck in the machine. They probably had to shut down a auto-sorting machine to fix it afterward. Happens a lot.

As for the xbox... Would his warranty still be valid since someone else ripped it open? I can see that going either way.

When I was younger (about 12) and on a trip with my school band...I got taken in and bomb searched...they didn't find any explosives in my trumpet case, but I almost missed my flight home, and everyone was worried as to where I was.

It is all because half the people who work at TSA are complete morons. Combine that with a minimum wage and the results are people who either just are there to make ends meet, or complete idiots who can't find jobs even flipping burgers.

I also wanted to add that why are we still relying on human error... we see things go wrong all the time. Why is it that every time I purchase a ticket I pay some additional fees, yet when I get to the airport I get these rent-a-cops? Can't all that money buy some reliable equipment to prevent this? Sorry I fly quite frequently and it is just absurd... they get away with everything, but if you protest or open your mouth they flag you for additional search, or may label you a threat... grr!!!

My one friend returned from the States after living there for a bit more than a year. He returned to South Africa at the beginning of this year. He was also a proud owner of a Xbox 360 which he bought in the States for $120 and the new Forza game compared to an Xbox price here in SA where the cheapest one is about $430 dollars. Just to give you Yanks a perspective on electronic pricing in SA. Got home just to find it has been stolen by SA employees of Johannesburg International Airport. And do you really think he's going to get it back?
