Use a Sony VCR Plus as a replacement for the antenna on a LG Plasma TV?

The antenna connector is broken so I am going to use a Sony VCR Plus

A VCR, an analog Video Cassette Recorder was made to take in analog broadcasts. Where are you posting from? If your locale still broadcast analog then fine, it will work.

However if broadcast is digital, NOPE. You can always buy an ATSC (Digital Tuner) however.
