Using an amplifier output as input for another amplifier

Hey guys,

I don't know if this is stupid, but I wanted to know if it's possible to tap an existing right and left channel out to a passive speaker and use it as input to another active speaker.

Why I want to do it is, that the passive speakers are Sony DAV DZ-350. The amplifier that it comes with ( the DVD player) has some lag to the output. When I hooked it up with another speaker to the same output there was a lag in the speakers coming out of Sony.

Hope I explained enough for you guys to understand.

So, I researched about it a bit and found that some circuits are voltage dividers. so is it safe for me to use a 100 Ohms and 10k Ohms as voltage divider and take output across 100k Ohms?

Btw, it was a new information. Thank you so much :)

I understand.

I will ask you the same questions as I asked @jay32267

So, I researched about it a bit and found that some circuits are voltage dividers. so is it safe for me to use a 100 Ohms and 10k Ohms as voltage divider and take output across 100k Ohms?

There are two issues here that are going to cause you grief.

First....you really don't know how much to step the voltage down.....so you really don't know what resistors to use.

...but second....and worse in my opinion....you don't know the input impedance of the amp.

This will AFFECT your voltage divider....and being you don't know the input impedance...you don't know how it will affect your voltage divider.

This is your easiest solution by far in my opinion.

Am a DIY guy myself but I never actually done this, so haven't done research, don't know.
