Question Using CVBS to HDMI Converter w/ LG TV

I purchased a USB-powered composite video to HDMI converter to connect a camera output to a new LG TV. After an hour or so, the image on the TV dims and the only way to "reset" it is to power-cycle the TV. I made sure to use the HDMI port (not HDMI ARC/eARC port) and disabled the "power saver" mode using the TV menu. I re-tested the TV using a composite video output from a DVD player and after 2 hrs. playing time, the screen did not dim. Tried the video camera again and it continues to dim out. Any suggestions? LG tech support has been of no help whatsoever. TIA!
