V60s data backup

I recently got a Motorola V60s and would like to find a means to get data
into the phone from my computer, as well as from the phone to my computer
for backup.

It's pretty clear that there is software that will do this for my phone
contacts, but I'd also like to transfer the data from and to the "Datebook."
(It's a real PITA entering information directly from the phone's keypad.

Any recommendation would be appreciated.

Motorola mobile PhoneTools is the only application that I know of that
synchs both the Phonebook and the Datebook. QuickLink Mobile Phonebook,
bundled with VZW's Mobile Office Kit (cable and software), does a better job
of backing up/editing the Phonebook, but it does nothing with the Datebook.

Do you have experience with PhoneTools working with the V60s? I ask because
before posting here, I went to Motorola's web site and PhoneTools is *not*
listed as being compatible with the V60s. (Seems strange because all the
other variations of the V60 are compatible.)

Yes, I do -- version 2.21f. I have not encountered any issues using the
software with the V60s and a USB cable (inexpensive cable if you don't have
one is available from eforcity.com).

You can purchase and download v2.0 from the Motorola or BVRP website
(http://www.bvrp.com/eng/products/mobilephonetools/default_motorola.asp),
and the 2.21b update is downloadable via the BVRP website
(http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrade/US/). Once the application
is installed, you can use the Live Update feature to upgrade to 2.21f.

Thanks tgw! Here's an interesting note: I submitted a question to
Motorola Technical Support asking if the software is compatible with the
V60s. I've received their reply, and according to that reply, it is *not*
compatible. I can only guess that their information isn't up to date...
maybe it didn't would with an earlier version of the software. In any case,
I'll believe someone on the front line (you) over a general in the rear.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't work for me. I've
installed the upgrades and the software is currently at 2.21f. I've tried
using each of the V60 phones with negative results. I've tried using both
WindowsME and WindowsXP.

Perhaps the phone's software version makes a difference. Mine currently has
8610_02.0F.03 (and that's what it had when I got it).
