Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First do test weather or not it's really overheating why it's shutting down or it maybe caused by a different problem.
- Do open the laptop and clean fans from dust and apply new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU.
- Observe if the same problem will persist after cleaning the inside of your laptop proceed with doing a test with the battery and AC adapter.
- Remove the battery off the laptop then connect just the AC adapter and see if it will stay on.
- If the laptop will still shut down without the battery try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if the same problem will happen or not.
- But if the laptop will stay on with just the AC adapter that could mean it's the battery that is faulty.
