Velocity problem in Sony Vegas

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution on how can I set to affect Velocity only for the selected Event in Vegas Pro 12.

I have a video file I have separated into 3 events and I want to change the Velocity (speeding up) ONLY the middle one. The problem is, when I'm about to set the Velocity of the selected middle event the application handles all 3 events as a whole and pulls content from the last event into the middle one. How can I avoid this? How can I tell the program to handle the events separated so I can change them one by one?
