Wether we switch from Provider 'x' to provider 'y' makes no difference to them in an individual basis. The poor chaps who answer the phone get the brunt of the complaints in their ears but the management types behind this numbers game could not care less.
They just watch the numbers at their monthly meetings and if the switch aways do not outpace the new signups all is well in CEO land.
Let's face it, we are all just little ants to them; useful workers without individuality.

I know, it is depressing. Sorry 🙂

So according to this article, it says that when I subscriber switches to a 4G smartphone then they will be taken off their "grandfather" plan....but what about people like myself that are already on a 4G phone and are "grandfathered"? Will they get me at upgrade/renewal? If so, what if I don't upgrade or renew and just buy a phone via ebay/craigslist etc and just continue my service off contract?

its time for everyone to start going to "other" carriers. I have been on boost for 4 years . 45 bucks a month. no contracts unlimited everything. did you hear that! drop all these sorry carriers. verizon, att, etc etc. tell them to kiss your ass goodbye and dont be bullied by "fees" and termination crap. tell them to suck it.

Communication providers are all criminal organizations. Yes, they are a business, and need to respect their 'bottom line' to make money. 'Double-dipping' of minutes by charging each customer 1 minute of air-time when it's only one minute of connection; Billing 2 minutes for a 1:01min call, or even 1min for a 15-sec dial that was never connected (VZ charges from "send to end"...)
Yes, Verizon has been more reliable for me, though only because I've been locked to a "1XEV" when I was supposed to have been on 3g for the last 3 years.
Time for me to look elsewhere.

I just switched to a Virgin Mobile month to month phone after being with Verizon for 4 years:

+ $35/month for 300min, unl text, unl data(they forget to mention that service slows to a crawl once you use 2.5gb)
+ Its $65 a month cheaper
+ I get better 3G than on my old Droid
+ No contract b.s.
+ No more getting haggled over "extra monthly fees" being tacked on at random
+ $65 a month cheaper for what appears to be service that is nearly comparable

- The phones are extremely outdated
- I'm dreading a short travel to the foothills

[citation][nom]mayne92[/nom]Even though I work in IT, tether my phone's connection, etc. - I'm thinking that once my contract with Verizon is up in a few months that I'm just done with smartphones in general. I simply can't see the justification of spending nearly $2,000 a year for a phone with small-capped Internet access. Some people can justify that they get to stay connected to Facebook for two grand as being worth it...but not I.[/citation]

Im with you... with out unlimited data on my phone its just not worth even having a smart phone.. good thing i kept my alias 2. soon as they tell me i cannot have unlimited im done with smartphones until the cell companys get thier heads back on..

Hell if i can use it at home as my home internet at the 30 to 40 megs speeds my 4g gets me i would gladly pay $50 a month that i pay for my 35/35 fios line.
