Sorry, I don't get it; how exactly are rival companies pulling together? I use verizon's network through tracfone, but because I'm prepaid, or because I'm operating through a MVNO, I can't make a free phone call to Japan? If they were truly transparent, and magnanimous with their charitable gesture, would they just open their lines to Japan? Isn't the limitation on prepaid but a snub to those who choose to not be on a contract, and thereby not lining their pockets too much. If they were serious about helping, they would send teams to help build the network again.
