I have an iPhone 5 that is still under contract with Verizon, can I put a Sim card in it and mask it as a new phone and activated on Verizon's prepaid?

Solution

Probably not, you would need to check with Verizon. A phone usually has to be unlocked for use like this, but since you are going from Verizon to Verizon it may not. Since you are on a contract you may need to pay off the contact penalty cost first.

If the phone is unlocked, should be able to. Put in your phone info on the straight talk bring my own device page and see if it's compatible. But since you are in a contract, Verizon won't unlock the phone till your account is settled with them.
