Okay, Apple fanbois take note; THIS is a phone worth waiting in line for!!! I'm glad the Android devices are still able to create a frenzy with all the models out there now.

Read too many reviews saying droid x kinda sucks so no go for me.

Guess well have to wait a little longer for a android phone to topple the EVO.

Shows that with enough hype, a good phone will actually sell well. Too bad creating hype for a newer product takes lots of money which takes away from the money spent making the product.

I'll personally wait will Android 2.2 comes out long enough for any potential bugs to be ironed out before buying.

Pretty amazing for a phone that might brick itself if you try to mod it:

Ruins the whole principal of Android. OPEN SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE!

And incidentally save ~$1000-$2000 a year...

I dunno, I always take the "Sold out in X hours/days" with a grain of salt. Did they play the Nintendo game of artificial scarcity? How many phones did each store get?

Lets see some sales numbers first before basing any decisions on its popularity (which you really shouldn't do).

I was excited about this, but then I heard about it being locked. Needless to say I kept my moto droid which is overclocked to 1ghz and has a keyboard.

I'll be waiting for the droid pro.

I was excited about this until I heard the announcement of a 2 Ghz phone coming late this year, which is DOUBLE the processing speed. Oh GOD I love the size of this phone, though. I hope it maintains its size for generations to come.

Selling out in the first day hardly means anything. In today's economy no one wants to hold onto any significant inventory so supply and stock are kept low. Also, I think selling out is just becoming a marketing gimmick in order to say 'look how great our product is, it's sold out!' This isn't droid hate (I think it's a mighty fine product), it's just lately almost everything seems to be 'selling out' on the first day, I just have a hard time people are really that excited about a dang phone.

When they manage to sell more than 3 millions Droid's in 3 weeks, then Ill be impressed, until then just keep wishing you had the most popular phone.
