VERY SLOW and I7 processor - says only 2 cores on CPU-z and VERY slow clock speed

My Dell XPS12 has been working great (8 months) until I turned on this morning. Speed was very slow on opening or running anything.

Found a thread suggesting CPU-Z and ran the program.
Indicates: Intel Corei7 4510U @ 2.00 GHz
Voltage 0.667 V
Core Speed: 798.10 MHZ

Selection: Processor #1 - Cores 2, Threads 4
Memory 8098 MBytes

Any Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Is 798 MHz a proper speed?
I'm trying to figure out why things started going so slow this morning. Not just a little bit of lag, but time-out on programs/web, and 10 -20 times longer to process anything, if at all.

It is probably a normal speed for a lightly loaded CPU. If you want the higher clock speed then you should change your power profile.
