Very slow Asus laptop

My laptop (An asus R510C) is very slow, already when I bought it. Now I have installed Windows 7, I thought that the slowness would be gone after that, but nothing did change (the boot time after that was still around 3-4 minutes). According to the performance meter, all the RAM is eaten after 10 minutes (0 MB free). CPU usage is around 25%.
This even happens when it is idle. It's age is about 3 years.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3537U @ 2.0 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB
OS Arch.: 64-Bit
GPU 1: Intel HD Graphics 4000
GPU 2: Nvidia GeForce 720M
HDD: 500 GB

What can I do to prevent starting me rage?

You can do two things. Your first option is to look into what process is taking up all of your ram, and look into stopping that process, or changing it so it doesn't hog resources. Your other option, which I would suggest in addition to the first, would be to get more ram, assuming your motherboard can support it.

According to task manager there are no processes with high ram usage (also not when I tick te box "show processes from all users")

Then I would guess that the standard windows processes are just too much for your ram. I would recommend getting more ram, but make sure it is compatible with your motherboard in terms of type, speed, and amount before you buy any.

Only MS office, F-secure antivirus for workstations and winrar. So, nothing really special.

Could you let me know what is eating up the ram? You could try and uninstall unnecessary programs. or try getting ones that don't eat the ram. The other option is to get more ram.

Fear not, your hardware is fine. The culprit is windows update. After a few small updates from vanilla install it consumes a massive amount of resources for your first bulk of updates. There is a MS bullitin about it with a link to the patched versions of windows update that doesn't have this issue, https/support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3050265

That said I find that after a bunch of updates, windows 7 will take HOURS to pick out the last couple of updates. You can simply let automatic updates pick it up eventually or what I did was used one of the..ahem.. "unofficial" windows 7 ISOs that have all the updates up to like april or march of the year.

It came with Windows 8, it was already slow at that point, but got even slower when upgraded to Windows 10! So, I don't really think...

Solved! I've installed an SSD. Way better.
