VHS Tapes are playing with a wierd color in a line

As strange as it is to say, now whenever I play some of my VHS tapes in my VCR, they start showing a purple overlay in the form of a line and It's really distracting. I tried cleaning my VCR to see if would fix it, but no luck. I think it's some kind of static or something.

Also, This doesn't happen on some VHS tapes I have that still have the recording tap on them, so I'm really not sure what's wrong here

Try putting tape over one of the ones without the tab and see if the line goes away.
