Viking Portable Record Player - How to Connect Speakers

Ok, I have to admit that I'm a complete newbie when it comes to old fashioned equipment and common sense I hope somebody could help me how I could connect speakers to this beautiful vintage record player. Any help much appreciated.

The first picture is the most interesting, yet it does not tell how many wires actually get out of your player. Being "stereophonic", there should be two sets of wires looking identical (eg modern speaker wires are with translucent isolation), so you can try that approach first.

There is a chance this player is built with vacuum tubes, and for what I remember, vacuum tube amplifier does not like to be run without load (without speaker connected).
