Vizio TV with Samsung Soundbar

We just purchased a 60in Vizio SmartTV and a Samsung Soundbar with wireless subwoofer. We followed the directions and the soundbar works great, when watching a Blu-ray, but it doesn't work when watching regular TV. Is there a way to hook it up to work with both the TV and Blu-Ray without having to switch the cables each time?

If the TV and the BluRay player are connected via the HDMI interface just connect the digital/optical connector on the soundbar to the TV's digital/optical interface (if your TV does not have a digital or optical connector you might have to use the analog stereo RCA output connector), also remember to set the output from the TV to PCM or 2.1 audio as some soundbars cannot handle Dolby Digital or DTS or outputs greater than 2 digital channels.
