Hi,

My problem : I purchased a digital voice recorder not knowing it was not compatible with a x64 bit system, in my case Vista 64.

My Question: Is there a way, beside installing another version of vista (32bit) or installing 2 ops on my computer to make this to work? In short, some kind of emulator that will fake the recorder believing it’s a 32bit system?

(it work fine with vista 32 bit, I tested it on my brothers cpu)

I am having the exact same problem with my Olympus VN4100PC. I've tried to contact Olympus several times about updating their driver software with no luck. If you or anyone else has found a solution, please let me know (aliciajett@ymail.com).

I recently went from Vista 32 bit to 64. It's a long story why.
Anyway I was using a Sony ICD P520 with Vista 32 bit and it worked great.
Now I find out that there is no driver for 64 bit for Sony IC recorders, won't load audio from the recorder.
The audio from the Sony P520 I have on another computer transferred to the 64 bit Vista computer works fine.

Can anyone shed some light on who makes a recorder compatible with 64 bit Vista. Apparently Olympus doesn't.

Thanks

09aug20_Have you found a work around? I just called Olympus and they were very unhelpful.

I've also just contacted Sony, and the rep effectively implied that Sony has NO plans to support 64-bit operating systems with it's drivers any time in the foreseeable future. Looks like it's time to wipe the dust off my XP 32-bit VMWare image.
