Volume control for acer aspire one

Hello,
I can't find the volume control on the taskbar and neither is it working from the control panel. What do I do to fix this prblem?

If the sliders are grayed out, you need to select an output device, or reinstall your audio driver.
control panel-->sounds-->default output device.
