Due to a system crash I've had to reinstall XP and reinstall my apps. My data is safe. Due to the fact that Voyetra/Turtle Beach no longer supports Record Producer Deluxe I am not able to complete the install. The last step is online registration with the company. NG.

I discovered the following workaround.

If you still have your old hard drive (and it still works) you can move the Voyetra Record Producer registration from the old hard drive to the new one. Using RegEdit, navigate to the KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Voyetra\Setup registry key and, using the right-click menu, export the key to a .REG file. Then, on your new installation, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Setup registry key and use the right-click menu to rename it. (This just saves the key in case a mistake is made). Now, using a floppy or thumbdrive, take the .REG file you created and run it on your new machine. The registry Key you saved from your old installation will be placed into the registry of your new installation and howdy-doodee, your new Voyetra installation is registered.

Does anyone have a working XP install of this software? Would you please furnish me a copy of the particular registry key noted above?

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Dan

Hello Dan,

This looked like a promising solution -I too have recently had to reinstall all my programs after upgrading my computer: I followed the steps you provided and ran the old registry but "howdy-doodee"...nothing: Upon launching Record Producer Deluxe I´m still being asked to register on their now defunct online server. Do they even have the right to abandon their customers like that even when taken over by another company? I feel that Cakewalk should have provided a patch or a fix of some sort if they felt compelled to close down this automated online registration link. Now, all my old little projects I was doodling with; what little I had recorded- are lost.
-Unless a solution is found. (I´m not conidering sending the files to someone who has miraculously escaped crashes, upgrades etc and still has RPD in working order to a solution; it´s a possibility but not a solution)

Same goes for my Vdeo Studio 10 projects, now that Ulead has dropped suport on this product. Never will I buy anything from them again...

Thanks,

Petur

I was able to get a working copy of the REG Edit with this previous method mentioned and back it up on my CD. It works great on my 32 bit machine, but is totally ignored on my 64 bit machine. Is there any way to get past this issue, or is it trash now?? :sol:

This is probably ancient history by now, but on Win8.1, I changed the Registry path for the keys above to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Voyetra\Setup\Reg17\RecordProducer5]
and it worked like a charm.
