This for people with Childern. Do you even know what your Teen ager is watching in his/her room or who are they chatting with on line. Lossen up a little and let your kids watch a little porn. This way, they won't have such a hard on and watch it behind your back anyways.

> I don't see how this is much different than the employee exposing himself to minors.

They are quite different! As big to a child as seeing a person being gunned down right in front of them versus seeing it on TV. A person exposing himself to a child is clearly acting with malicious intent. That is quite different from say - a person flashing in a sporting event.

You guys relating tv violence to porn have me rolling. There is no comparison to having a little seeing girl eating cum and getting pounded in her ass. That kid is an idiot and I hope he goes to jail for it. I would take any tv scene over a porno anyday. Not that it is ok, but you some of you have no clue.

[citation][nom]starryman[/nom]Why was any Walmart employee demonstrating anything? They just sweep the floors and tend the cash registers.[/citation]

Idiot, walmart employee could be manager (not in this case). Who said they only do cash registers, cleanup etc? Geez.

Now about porn vs killing movies - they do not have the safe effect.

...please...

We are hearing 'examples' of movies that Walmart is showing depicting violence, specifically: Killing people/The Matrix.

I have shopped at walmart on many occasions, I have also spent a great deal of time in their store. Never have I ever seen them play a feature length film. They play their dvd composed of snippets from Discover, Sports channels, etc. You know why they DON'T play movies? It's cause they first have to get permissions for playing the movie in public (fat chance of a store doing that for you) or the MPAA would be all over them for unauthorized public display of their copyrighted works.

My parents used to bring us to Sams Club, and they would show full length movies on a tv that was being displayed. They loved it because they could go shopping with us while not having to deal with us. Then Sams Club got fined and their whole policies changed regarding movies and their displays. Recently I went to Walmart and asked if I could play a dvd of mine (Pirates) to test which display I liked best. The floor-boy had to talk to his manager, who then told him no, that they couldn't do that.

Point is: Give me a recent example of you watching a movie in walmart where someone is being violently murdered. Perhaps your stores have lax rules, idk or care. I just think these 'examples' are pure BS.

If you have an actual example of a violent movie, ok. Still, that movie is fake, fabricated. Even my three year old nephew knows its pretend. Porn is not pretend, it is real and there are laws that specifically deal with the issue. Just like if these boys put on a dvd of REAL bum fights. That is real, and these boys would have been punished by the extent of the laws in place for those things being displayed.

[citation][nom]croc[/nom]Actually, what this shows is your willingness to cram your version of morality down everyone else's throats. Please don't come to Australia, we don't need your kind down here......Cleaning up the internet, one moralistic religious zealot at a time![/citation]

Actually, I find this kind of funny...I never said anything about the morality of nudity or sex. You have no idea what I believe. I was pointing out why, from a legal standpoint, what they did was wrong.

[citation][nom]welshmousepk[/nom]and thats where this strange point of view i cannot understand comes from. because you remove the blood, it is okay for a child to watch? the fact that a person is stil killing, without remorse or emotion, is fine as long as there is no red stuff? but sex, of course must be hidden away. nevermind it is a normal part of every single persons life. we all grow up to have sex, but we do not all grow up to kill people. it confuses me that people take such a strange point of view.[/citation]
It's just that Americans (self not included) tend to have very prudish attitudes towards sex in general that is not found to the same degree elsewhere in the world (with some important exceptions). It seems that society here wants to hide it on one hand and puts it up on a pedestal on the other hand both of which steer young people to be more curious about it. That being said, these two fools broke the rules/laws we have made and should be punished accordingly.

i dont want my daughter to be sucking dicks at an early age. or think it is "right" or "fun" (well yes it is fun, but anyway...) at an early age for me, seeing those kind of stuff is soooo very wrong. at least when violence is show on TV it is easier to say that it is bad than people smiling, kissing, having sex, and say -- honey don't do that it's BAAAD!! or do that when you're 18!

Wow, what a debate! It's too bad so many of you are hurling insults and generalized character assessments at one another. It makes it harder for anyone to take you seriously when you expose your dirty laundry like that. Remember ...you are not the center of the universe, so don't be so quick to slam down opinions that descent from yours.

I have spoken. Now bow down to me and beg for forgiveness. :p

The only reason these parents freak out is because sex embarrasses THEM in front of their children, they feel uncomfortable talking about it. The only reason they feel that way, is because their parents sheltered them from it the same way they do to their kids.

My dad was kind of a perv, he encouraged me to take an interest in women before I was old enough to actually be interested, and it did make me feel a bit awkward at the time, but it was better than being raised by some evangelical religious nut who thinks that grown women sucking on penises is an act against nature.

I can't believe how willing people are to accept that if it is against the law it is wrong. Morality and legality, while occasionally overlapping, often have very little to do with each other. As a society, americans are very over protective of children. On top of all that, a surprisingly large precentage of people have the impression that pornography is sinful and disgusting, and that sex or anything sex related (stories, pictures, jokes, basically anything) is something that should be kept behind closed doors.

I agree that what they did was wrong, and they should most definately be fired for it. However, I see a distinction between showing pornography in a public place where children might see it, and handing out hustler magazines to anyone who wants one. I don't think that what they did should ruin their futures, but I do think that a misdomeaner and a considerable amount of community service would be well deserved.

As for violence versus pornography, while you can argue that one is natural and the other isn't, or that one is easily distinguished as fictional and the other isn't, the fact remains that both are something that you do not want children to be mimicing, and thus are kept from curious young eyes.

I live in the town that this happened and I have a few facts about the incident.
The video that played on the TVs was just clips from Bruno that did contain nudity (only about 6 seconds worth). One of the clips was the cage fighting scene that actually happened in that same town.
Also, the video played for 20 minutes before a customer notified a manager. And the video was played at 10:30PM on a weekday, and no kids saw it.

Charging these guys with a felony is way overboard and I hope the whole case gets dropped. I saw the surveillance footage on the local news and there several customers that walked by it and some even stood there and watched it.
There were several pallets of stock laying across from the TVs and it was right next to the electronics dept, which always has employees working in it.

"What happened in the Walmart incident is essentially equivalent to public nudity/sex. There were naked people on the screen that anyone (including children) could view. Unlike depictions of violence, there is no such thing as "fake" nudity. That is why this was wrong "

Where I come from walking down the street buTT naked isn't exactly recomended either, but a big deal? Eh no..

And having my children see naked bodies would be the least of my problems since they are not in anyway affended by it (maybe alittle curious, that's all). And they sure as hell aren't damaged by it.

So seing a naked body posted in public isn't just public nudity(?)... it's offensive as well? Hehe... do yourself a favor and steer clear of Europe. On second thought avoid the whole world. You're likely to get a heart attack
