Want to add home theatre

I am on a budget but am thinking of adding home theatre with 5.1. I am looking at HTiB or component but due to my budget cannot spend more than about 600 - 700. Any ideas? I would appreciate all input

In that budget range, small speakers (new) or garage sale speakers. The best bargains are to be had from used, second hand equipment

Well, if you want brand new speakers you are basically limited to 5 Polk or Infinity bookshelf speakers, something like a Dayton 8" subwoofer, and a entry-level ~$150 receiver. You can pick this all off Amazon.
