wanting to have one computer run 3 workstations

I'm wondering how to do this.

Basically I have 3 kiddos, instead of making one computer a piece for each of the tykes, I'd like to have 3 virtual machines running on 1 physical, each of the 3 would have their interfaces (keyboard, mouse, monitor)

I've seen this similar setup in internet cafe's but I need names of software or a direction to start.

any help is appreciated =)

Terminal Server and thin clients. Will cost about the same as buying 3 cheap computers or tablets though.
