Weak spindle drive motors DVD

This is a common problem with recent model Panasonic players, as they
moved to a low quality motor. The motor binds and stops turning.


If I decide to upgrade, which manufacturers use a decent quality
spindle Motor.

I suspect that if you clean and properly lubricate the existing motor,
it'll work just fine for a very long time.

Some of the later model dvd motors are SO bad this doesn't work. Can't even
get to the bottom bearing for lubrication - no openings. Example, later
Toshiba spindle motors. These people are no dummies - they know some people
were fixing these. The motors were designed to never be fixed.
