What are the Best headphones to get?

Hi. I trying to find a gift for my brother whos going to new zealand after Christmas and i thought a pair of headphones would be perfect for the long flight. But unfortunately i dont have a clue which would be the best type to get.
It must be easily portable.
Have good sound and noise isolation.

Interesting topic, I would like to hear the suggestions as well cause I too happen to be in need of headphones right now hahaha. Have to wait for the OP to get back with his answer so I am not too intrusive haha
