what driver do I install to get my toshiba hdmi port to work

I have a toshiba L850D laptop and now my hdmi port is not working when I connect the laptop to the tv. I get a message on the tv, no signal. I have tried using the hdmi cable on my blue ray player and it works, so it is not a bad cable. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it.
