What is best software to wipe a HDD completely

I have a really bad virus that is using 80% of my cpu at any given time and need to wipe my hard drive so that it does not survive.

I want software that wipes the sectors that most dont get. I looked into dban but noticed it does not get those areas and with my luck thats where the virus is...I tried the free one time use of blancco but it cannot find my network and I have given up trying to get that to work. (it has to find your network before it lets you wipe your hdd....)

So my question is there any free software that I can boot from a usb drive to wipe my C: drive completely or do I have to settle for dban and hope it gets the virus.

DBAN.

Only thing it can't wipe is a BIOS infection , which is rare.

I knew it was suppose to be good but I didnt know it was that good. You always seem to know your stuff so I will trust your advice and give dban a try. Thanks for the help!

Should I use DBAN if Im selling 2 HDDs and an SSD? Win 7 is on one of the HDDs, got the SSD 2 years after I build the PC.
