My relatively newer laptop (under an year), crashes

have started crashing, n restart sudden, without proper shutdown. Just like that..
checked EVENT Viewer, it says some events of critical, Kernal power "EVENT Id: 41"

First happened once in Oct, Then nothing. so i ignored. but then recently, 6 more times, in last 12 days.
maybe coz i hav started using laptop more recently. & i dnt know if its some recent update..or what.
not gaming much, but heavy browser use, tonnes of tabs open mostly.
Mostly happened, when i m not onscreen.
I am loosing my work, often, kindly help someone..
my system restore points..dont go back more than 10 days.
so i dont know, whats causing that...plz help, thank you : )

yeah sir, problem is still thr. Its a sudden crash. without any hanging or freezing. System does hang sometimes for microsecs, but thats mostly when it has just started up. Else its fine. crash happens random. Just says windows hav issue, n crash, n restart. Wonder whats causings that.. kindly help. Laptop is fairely new. It happened once before, but now happens frequent, from past 12 days. 7-8 times. Same..Kernal power EVENT ID 41..in event viewer.

******Edit :- I also noted many Kernal processor power EVENT 37, warnings. in event viewer
saying.. "the speed of processor 29 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. the processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since last report"
wonder if that has anything to do with it

Also the EVent id 41, critical error, has many variants. But most recent ones bugcheck code is 278.

The crashes have increased, from once in 2 days. to 3-4 times a day already. Any help is welcome : ) thanks.

edit 2- i tried installing new bios, it asked for restart, but nothing happend
bios didnt update, laptop basically just restarted with older version. wierd..

i m doing. chrome heavy work. tonnes of tabs, charts..simultaneously run on tabs. Thats when crash happened most. Not during game

while using chrome, CPU temp fluctuate, 45-60c, GPU- 33c. its winters.
tested on game nfs hot pursuit. old game, high settings.
Gpu-47 c , didnt know how to check cpu temp during game, i checked right after was 76c.

In short
while chrome - Cpu 45-60c, GPU 33c
in game- Cpu over 76, Gpu - 47
Idle, will post, if u need

Have you checked via the MyAsus app, that you have all the latest BIOS/UEFI installed, and the latest drivers (particularly the chip-set drivers, and the GPU/GRAPHICS drivers). Microsoft sometimes try to install different drivers from the laptop manufacturer, and that can cause issues. Also take special care with Graphics drivers, as ASUS may have customised their RTX4090, that may be different from the latest from NVIDIA. Use the ASUS specific one, should be shown in the MyAsus app.

i updated graphics drivers, yesterday. with nvidia app.
came across myasus app, later. my asus app showed a bios update. i tried updating, but wierdly.. progress kept hovering on 70%, for 10-15 mins. Then sudden asks, if i d like restart to complete the update. But Nothing happened on restart, Bios didnt update. But on my asus, it showed update is successful funny. but i think its not.

i ill try the sfc, dism thing today..n upadate.. last time it crashed with, EVENT ID 41, bugcheck 278

Edit.. i checked my bios version is same as new one, on asus website..320
but the date is different.. i dont know if i hav latest version, but pretty sure on updating via asus app, nothing happened..on restart.

I even tried a direct, bios update from asus Site.. i downloaded..n installed manualy . Again it asked to restart to complete, but nothing happened on restart. laptop just restarted
Is it coz i already have that version or what? or shud it still update

Well, thanks guys, but noone bothered to follow my post. or ask me what worked or not.. i waited many days for u guys replies, when nothing worked...But after trying lot of things. i think i was able to fix the issue, i am not sure, how but it must be the DISM n SFC. thing, special thanks to Mr COL GEEK. i think that worked. thank you sir. IT never crashed after that. so it was a software problem most like caused by bad updates, windows keep bombarding at us.

Anyways..problem seem to be solved.

yes sir, i will try, however problem occured after, 4-5 days.

During that, i still used laptop quite a bit.
I even gamed heavy on it last few days, never crashed during that. For 2 hours at stretch or even more
Laptops cpu temps easily touches 95c or more in gaming i think, even on browsers it reaches 90 sometimes, but gpu temps, remain very Mild.

Its wierd it never crashed while gaming, ( atleast till now ) when fans were running full blast
n cpu temps were high for extended time.

i thought, dism, sfc solved the problem, shud i run them again?
i will try using other browser. when it crashed i was using, Chrome..and brave.

There have been memory issues associated with Chrome that are exacerbated by some add-ons/extensions or some systems.

If this was my system, I would copy all of my files to an external storage device and then completely re-install Windows from scratch. Of course that means re-installing all applications as well.
