What is Classic Shell?

I bought a new laptop, it came with a program called Classic Shell. What is it, and do I need it in order to use my laptop?

it's an explorer add on to make feel/function like exlporer in windows XP.

well up to you...some people liked the way the old one feel/function thus installing it. and other no.
