What is difference between 4gb and 8gb Ram for macbook air for engineering student ????

This. I would really recommend going with a windows machine. It will save you from having to go to the on campus labs just to use certain software, not to mention you'd get a comparable machine much cheaper without having to worry about dual booting windows and Mac OS.
