Hello I just purchased a new headset (Skullcandy SLYR)
It has options of plugging in with 3.5mm jack (mic can't be used), and USB (mic enabled)
When I plug in 3.5mm jack, it is 100% perfectly fine.
When I plug in USB Drive to use microphone, there is a little slight white noise when I'm playing absolutely nothing. When I mute the headphones, the white noise goes away.
I have unticked Listen to this device for microphone.
I've tried all USB Ports, different computers...
What can be the problem?

its most likely defective. When you plug it in using 3.5mm, it bypasses the build in headphone amp and uses the pc's sound card. When you use the USB, the amp on the headphone is used (doesn't use pc soundcard.)

Most likely this part of the headphone is either defective or just poorly designed.

But you see the thing is it's reproducing sound very very fine. It's just that when absolutely nothing is playing it makes a tiny hiss. When I play music it goes right over the hiss

Could it be the GMX In Line MIxer?
The GMX In Line Mixer is basically the ''controller'' of the headphone, you plug the 3.5mm jack into it, then the controller has it's own usb which plugs into the computer.

So apparently there are 3 modes for the GMX In Line Mixer.
Bass, Standard, and Treble.
It only gives you numbers, 1, 2, and 3.
Since 1 was on there, I thought it was the Normal sound mode. I took a better look at manual, apparently 1 is treble, that explains the hissing. Then, when I set it to 3 (bass), it made a hum, just like a synthetic bass amplification should. When I set it to normal, there was no hiss or hum, (only a very small hum, because it's the USB itself)
Thanks for your help anyways guys!
