Is it better to use an elegato/ other PVRs or Fraps, Dxtory, etc. what is better the chose. And i know with Fraps and Dxtory you can see your FPS but what about other applications, can they display fps or can only fraps and dxtory do that?
For recording actual gameplay I would suggest using either Nvidia's GeForce Experience with ShadowPlay, or Open Broadcasting Software. ShadowPlay works really nice for full screen gaming, but it doesn't support all games. OBS is kind of a double feature project. You can either stream or just record to your heart's content, whether that be just a certain window, or the whole desktop. These are the two software packages I've ever used for Streaming/Recording and they do a good job.
No either of those do not show your FPS. It's best to use Fraps for that sort of thing. However, it should show up in your recordings if you decide to use it AND record at the same time.
Hope I answered your question. It was a little difficult trying to mull out what you're getting at.
