What is the output for on the back on my speakers?

First off, I do not know anything about speakers. But recently I bought a pair of PC speakers, the Logitech z333 2.1 speakers. On the back there is an input and an output.

The input is where I connect my speakers to my pc, but what is the output for?
What do the colours represent?
Can I connect my phone and pc simultaneously with to different cables?
In that case, which cables should I get?

The 'output' is for the two other speakers. Right and Left. The "2" in "2.1".
