What is this tape on laptop exhaust?

my laptop is the asus q550lf and i took it apart and ripped off a black strip of tape on the exhaust and i have no idea what it is

id like to know what tape this is and if i could use any other kind of tape

It's just a little hunk of electrical tape to hold the wires in place. You could use masking or duct tape, I suppose.
