What is true HD?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50-A-166, I want to know if I can truly view HD movie etc. Is this capable of viewing 1080p movies?

It should scale down to 720 then. "True HD" for me means 1080. 720 is smaller the true/full HD.

Oh, thanks for the answers. Last question, in what part of the specs will I need to check in order to know what laptop is true HD? I'm thinking of buying a new laptop (hopefully not too expensive) with that isn't scaled down.

"True HD" is known as Full HD which means 1920x1080 resolution, or simply 1080p.

1366x768 resolution is simply known as HD, or simply 720p.
