Yeah that's true, dgpu means not great battery. The surface book is kind of expensive if you want more storage (512gb version is 2,700 dollars). Maybe after Oct 26th, the price on it will drop (if they release updated one). My other choice would be to accept subpar battery life and get msi gtx1060 laptop (15.6 model ) or get dell xps 15 (with a crappy outdated gpu). Thank you for taking your time to reply back here.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking about doing, only thing I'm worried about is the trackpad being so awful.

For sure, when gaming I be using gaming mouse, but for light task would want a useable trackpad( don't want to carry a mouse to university with me). I'm eying the msi gs63vr model, but some users are having wifi problems. Now, I'm not sure if it's just bad one that person got. so, I'm back to square one again. I probably need to make up my mind on which laptop by next week. It's so hard picking the right laptop. (dam best buy selection)

This should be good: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-macbook-pro-15-4-display-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-256gb-flash-storage-silver/8532502.p?skuId=8532502

I know it is a macbook but they are good for the things you need. The gpu wont make that much of a difference apart from in gaming. If you want a windows laptop then get any of the gaming ones. They will do the job well. Also there is going to be a microsoft and apple event. They may release new macbooks and surface pros so if you can wait I would.
