What laptop will work with the Optishot 2 for under $400?

I bought the Optishot 2 as a gift for my husband for Christmas and I don't understand the graphics card requirements. It seems as though only $1000 gaming laptops will meet the 256mb minimum, along with 3GB hard disk space, 4GB RAM, and 1 2.0 port. This particular laptop will only be used to play this game in our living room. I have even looked at refurbished laptop's and I am now just spinning my wheels and getting more confused. I think I'm going to be returning the Optishot if I can't find a cheaper laptop option. Please help.

A $400 laptop is pretty limiting. Does it HAVE to be a laptop ?

We have a desk top but it's upstairs in the office. The place where the Optishot can be played is in our living room because of space. Just need something portable I guess, or we would have to bring the desk top back and forth.

A second small form factor desktop will provide more capabilities but at a low price point.

Small tower. Quad Core, 8GB RAM, new CPU so the integrated graphics is pretty good.
