I was a sprint PCS customer a few years ago and switched to NEXTEL a few 2
years ago when the service of sprint got bad, I like the nextel service but
now I need to be oin budget and trim my cell phone bill down.. I am paying
baout $80 a month. Here is what I need and hopefully someone can tell me if
sprint offers this..

-- a flip phone with a speaker phone built in
-- Lots of anytime minutes (my current nextel plan has 600 anytime and
unlimited incoming minutes)
-- Free nights and weekends
-- text messaging
-- ability to check pop email accounts

Im also getting a diuscount on nextel since I work for a school and it also
has GPS that I pay for to use TELENAV.. anything like all of what I am
asking for for nextel? less then what I ma paying? also how is the service
in NJ and PA since I havewnt used it in a long time

Sprint has a 700 minute plan for $50/month, so that's pretty close and
would help. Text messaging, by itself, is $5/month for 100 messages, or
$10/month unlimited. Or you can simply pay a dime per message.

Access to email is a little complicated. It can be done to virtually
any SMTP account by having PCS Mail retrieve it, or by using BCPE via a
running PC at some stationary location. And a few providers have set up
links within the Vision network. It's possible, though. $15/month for
unlimited access to Vision to do it, or a penny per KB of data (sent
*or* received) without that pack.

Location-based services are activated on SPCS' network, but there are
currently no commercial services utilizing that via the phones... yet.
As of the time I left SPCS, they were scheduled to launch sometime this
year. Nothing more precise than that. Sorry.

So Sprint can save you some money. Not a ton. And you *do* lose a bit
in the translation.
