What should I buy?

Hello everyone!

I'm in the market to purchase a new Laptop or Netbook but I need some help picking one out. I had a Dell Mini 10v but it wasn't powerful enough. I couldn't play YouTube videos well or run many programs. However, I loved the battery life and that it never got hot!

My new portable must be able to run programs efficiently, i.e., Rosetta Stone, MS Office, etc. It has to be able to play 1080p videos without any problems. Below are my requirements.

Requirements -
- Small Form Factor 13 - 14" Screen
- Minimum Dual Core CPU
- Minimum 2gb RAM
- Prefer Dedicated GPU (AMD Fusion)
- Has to play 1080p flawlessly
- DVD-rom not required
- NO Atom Processors (Please)
- Located at Newegg.com
- The hard part - $450.00 or less

Can you explain this requirement in a bit more detail? Are you expecting a 1920x1080 resolution LCD screen in a 14" laptop?

@ WR2, I see what you're getting at... I would want a 1366x768 LCD resolution. I want to be able to play YouTube videos or any other streaming content without problems. On my Dell Mini 10 I had an Intel 500 GPU and it couldn't perform very well.

It's not a dedicated (discrete) graphics card but the advertising calls it "discrete-class graphics" and they're mostly right.
Plenty of power for HD video. But the E-350 will seem sluggish running multi-tasking MS Office apps.

If you can't (or don't want to wait a couple months) and you're set on a Fusion 'Netbook I'd suggest you grab this Lenovo.

That $429 deal is good for a limited number of uses and I think it will go fast (like maybe even today only).

You're probably going to be interested in the AMD Fusion A series of CPUs. Shipping now to MFGRs and should be showing up this summer.

I have decided to take your advice and wait until the AMD Fusion A series comes out. I have also fell in love with the Lenovo X series laptops. I really hope that Lenovo builds a Fusion X series laptop. Anyone know if they will or if they're buying Fusion A chips?
