What to do after adding new hard drive to laptop?

I have an acer aspire vx15 with Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM, 16GB DDR4 Memory & 256GB SSD, and windows 10. I just installed a 1tb 7200 rpm hard drive into it by HGST. However i don't know what to do after this. I know there is something that i have to do within windows that i do not know how to do. Can anyone help me?

I'm not the OP, but I have the same situation. And yes, it shows up in device manager and bios. Do I need to now format it or anything like that?
