This issue has now been fixed, and it is really easy to solve this crashing issue. Keep on reading this guide to know the fixes for this issue.
Fix #1:
This is a general fix and works for some people and doesn’t work for others. But there is no harm in trying it out. What you need to do is plug in your headphones if you have one.

But, if you do not use your headphones, then check your audio driver by going to the properties of My Computer and then Click on Device Manager.

Once you have opened the Device Manager, find the Sound device and then click on “+” before it, some people may see “>.” Whatever you see, click on it and it will open a list of sound drivers. Right click on your sound drivers, it is usually Intel Audio driver and then click on update driver. Once your driver is updated your game will run fine. But, if this does not fix the issue then refer to Fix #2.
Fix #2:
When you are in Steam, click on Library, then click on Installed, then right click on the Properties. There you will see Local Files tab. Click on it and then click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

This should fix your problem of crashing. But if the issue persists then refer to Fix #3.
Fix #3:
This fix usually fixes the issue for most of the players. It is a straightforward fix and will take 2 minutes at max. What you need to do is to go to the game directory/_CommonReddist/XNA/4.0 – There you will see an icon named as xnafx40_redist. Run it and install it. Once done, install Vcredist as well. You can find Vcredist by Googling it. Now if you do not find XNA 4.0 in that folder then go to this link, download it and then install it.
