What to look for in a TV for gaming?

I am looking for a sub $200 1080p HDTV but I don't know anything about TV's.

1. Should I look for a monitor or a TV?
2. And what type of TV or Monitor should I be looking for?

Depends really.

Are you looking to hook it up to a cable box and use for ps3/xbox gaming?

Or is it going to be set up with your computer for PC gaming?

I would agree with Rev, but add... don't buy a sub $200 television. Buy a monitor. Their quality is flat out terrible. You can pick up an HP, or Acer monitor with integrated speakers for less than your budget.

It would be best to look for a television with a fast refresh rate and low input lag/response time. However, for less than $200, you would definitely be better off buying a monitor.
