Solved! What wires can I use to get color on my tv

I have a DVD hooked to my tv but I can't get color

there no hdmi ports on your tv or dvd player???

I will guess that your TV has a shared component-composite video audio input. Go into the TV menu and change it to composite if you have connected the DVD with a yellow video and red and white audio cable to the TV.
