What would be the best Chrome Book for using Excel? under 300$

Solution
You cannot use Excel on a chromebook. Excel is a Windows program which means it requires a Windows operating system. Chromebooks uses Chrome OS which is basically a browser. I believe Google Doc is a productivity suite for Chromebooks.

If you want to use Excel, then you need to purchase a Windows laptop. Below is an example of an inexpensive laptop ($259) that can run Windows 10. It has a Quad Core Pentium N3700 Atom CPU. Consider it as a relatively powerful CPU for a tablet, but a rather weak CPU for laptops if you were to compare to a Core i3 CPU.

If you do not mind a refurbished laptop, then consider the following ThinkPad T430 for $280. It's one of the best business laptops back when it was released.

Solution
So first off, you aren't able to use Excel on a Chromebook like you normally would on a laptop. There are a couple of workarounds, like:

1. Opening the spreadsheet with the MS Excel Online App
2. Using the Office Editing Chrome extension
3. Using Google Docs

With that out of the way, the Toshiba Chromebook 2 and Acer C13 come highly recommended, so you should check those out. I have the Chromebook 2 and am pretty happy with it.
