Whats a better phone VX6000 or VX7000?

I could care less about the camera, but...on the 6000 there's an external
button that can get pressed accidentally and will put your phone in either
manner or silent mode without your knowledge. This was brought up to both
LG and Verizon MANY times, and, they refused to do anything about it.

That )(*$# button is the sole reason I got rid of my 6000 and got the 7000.

The main reason I like either is that I'm very hard of hearing, and, both
the ring and vibrate on LG phones are plenty loud, much louder than Nokia or
Motorola.

What button is that because I don't have it on my VX6000. I can only
put my phone on silent mode by pressing the * button and the phone has
to be opened to do that.

It is the small button on the outside of the phone. Pressing and
holding it for a few seconds will activate manner (vibrate) mode.
Repeating the procedure will put it in silent mode and again back to
regular mode. You don't have to open the phone to do this

Holy cow! You're right! I never knoew that. I certainly never did it
by accident that's for sure. It's a small button and you have to hold
it in for a few seconds but I guess it is possible to do it by
accident dependent on how you carry your phone. I have never done it
though. But I stand corrected.

I used that phone for a while and never had that problem. You really
had to hold that button in for a few seconds to change the mode. I
could see it happening if you used the included holster and pressed
and held the button while extracting it. It was a tight and rather
awkward fit. I used the leather case and could not possibly do it
accidentally this way.

I guess it is a matter of preference. I now have the Audiovox 9900
where you have to open the phone and press and hold * to change to the
vibrate mode.

I'd rather be able to do it from a side button and not have to open
the phone. Other positive reviewers of this phone have said the same.

The lower button on my VX6000 (under the up/down volume button) will change
the ring volume from 'normal' to 'manner mode (vibrate), to 'silent' mode in
that order. Granted that button has to be held down for about 3 seconds in
order for the ringer to change, but apparently it's possible for it to
happen if someone has it in their pocket and something else in the pocket
'leans' against that button for a few seconds.
