I personally use the free version of Avast but I know Avira has the best detection rates of all the free AVs.

Beyond the shadow of the doubt the Norton Antivirus is the best anti-virus software. I've been using it for years.

A Windows system is best protected by Mirosoft's own embedded Defender and Security Essentials. You paid for them when you bought Windows - why pay someone else?

When a threat is identified, what do you think MS will do first - patch their product or phone Norton/Avast/Kaspersky/Grisoft/McAfee and tell them all about it?
