What's the difference between the Canon EOS XSI 450D and the Newer Canon Rebel Series'

Hi, so a friend just let me borrow their Canon EOS XSi 450D camera. I'm just wondering what the differences are between that camera and the Newer Rebel series, considering that the 450D came out in 2008. Looking forward to your responses.
