Canon EOS Rebel T3 Issue

I have a Canon rebel T3 and it works fine, takes pictures on SD card, not an issue, and yes I can read the SD card with a SD card reader to see my photos.

Problem: what is happening is now the usb is no longer recognizing the camera when I plug it directly with the usb cable.

Troubleshooting steps taken;

Changed cable, changed computer, a friend of mine has the same camera, tested it with cables and computers I use and we see no issue using their camera

My Diagnosis: I am pretty sure something is wrong with the usb port on the camera.

I am just wondering if anyone encountered this before, I doubt I will send it back to canon, not worth my time but I am curious

Have you tried a factory reset of the camera? Not sure it will make a difference but worth a shot.
