whats wrong with my HP laptop? starts but loads on a blue sceen fore ever

whats wrong with my laptop? my hp pc was left on fore some time and crashed . when i come to turn it on it loads and i get as fare as a blue screen.. then just stags.. i can access Fkeys but it doesnt get me very fare.. it just loads a black screen. pleas help

Try the diagnostics at the company's website, but they will say it's a bad hard drive; because the O/S boot up files are not loading, when you turn it on.

Did you try to reset your laptop? Unplug your power supply, then unplug your battery by holding your laptop in an horizontal postition and push the power button for about 5 seconds. Press it again some times and then plug back your battery and power supply and try to fire it up to see what happens

If it's the hard drive that is suspect, you could also take out the hard drive and try starting it without it, see if it blue screens or just gives you the "could not find boot device" screen.
