WHATS WRONG WITH MY LAPTOP

Hello,
can someone plz tell me whats wrong with my laptop when i put it on the charger the lights come on but when i try to turn it on only the lights are on not the screen but when i unplug the charger the ligts go out and im still not able to turn on my laptop what wrong with my screen???

Is everything else running fine, i.e. does it seem to be booting up? If so, it would seem like you have a bad inverter on your hands. Just google your brand-model of laptop and inverter and you should be able to find a replacement for cheap. If it is under warranty though, send it in.
