When I turn on my home stereo when I turn the equalizer on it since it popping sound through the speakers

The stereo system plays fine until I turn on The Equalizer and then you start getting a popping sound what do I need to do? I have a Pyle receiver and equalizer running two sets of speakers so one is book shelf,I don't know what they are called and the other two are bose. Could there be a difference in the voltage

If you are boosting the bass too much with the EQ you are over driving the woofers in the speakers. This makes a popping noise and potentially can damage the speakers if it already hasn't done so.
